(VOV) -The 3rd Southeast Asian Karate Championships will take place in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho from April 16-18.
- Junior Karate Tournament attracts nearly 500 athletes
- Vietnam wins gold at Korea Open karate champs
- Karate artists head for regional competition
This year’s event is expected to attract nearly 150 male and female athletes from 7 Southeast Asian countries: Brunei, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and hosts Vietnam.
Vietnam has decided to send 89 martial artists, including 59 males, to the tournament.
The athletes will scramble for 39 sets of medal.
The annual tournament is within the competition system of the Asian Karatedo Federation (AKF).
In last year’s event, Vietnam ranked third overall with a total of 6 gold medals.
