French cuisine under spotlight in Vietnam

French Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Vincent Floreani said that an estimated 2,500 French dinners will be prepared at restaurants and the French Embassies in 150 countries around the world.

Vietnam has many restaurants joining this event with 51 participating locations, ranking seventh.

This is the fifth year that the gastronomic event Goût de France has been held simultaneously in many countries around the world to introduce the world community and Vietnamese people to French cuisine.

French dinners in Vietnam will be prepared by professional chefs trained in France with the use of ingredients from both France and Vietnam to ensure the hygiene and food safety standards of high-class restaurants.

According to Vincent Floreani, when coming to the biggest dinner on this planet, diners can discover French dishes with the different flavours of each region in France.

Vincent Floreani expected that this event will soon become a festival so that more and more people will know about French cuisine, particularly materials, recipes, processing process, dish presentation and others in French style.

Within the framework of Goût de France, there is also a French-style breakfast event in Ho Chi Minh City in order to connect entrepreneurs in the food industry, a seminar on a balanced and healthy diet, the introduction of a French culinary training programme in Vietnam, a photo exhibition on typical French cheese and cold meat products, and the screening of films about French and Vietnamese cuisine, among others.
