Over 12,500 people visited Dien Bien Phu battlefield relic complex from February 2-9, with nearly 9,000 on February 8-9 alone, said Deputy Director of the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum Vu Thi Tuyet Nga.
From February 9-10, visitors went for sightseeing and posing at Hill A1, Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument, Bunker of Colonel de Castries, Muong Thanh bridge and Dien Bien Phu campaign headquarters.
Meanwhile, in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, cultural and ecological tourist areas such as Ko Tam, Troh Bu, Ako Dhong village and Don village attracted crowds.
Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Ko Tam community-based tourism JSC Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh said from the second to fifth day of the Lunar New Year, Ko Tam welcomed more than 40,000 visitors.
Meanwhile, Troh Bu ecological tourist site is home to over 10,000 species of rare orchids and many kinds of wildlife. It also preserves the largest dugout canoe in Vietnam as recognised by the Vietnam Records Organisation.
Buon Don tourist area and Yok Don national park in Buon Don district; Lak lake in Lak district; Ako Dhong village and Ako Ea ecological tourist site in Buon Ma Thuot city also lured tens of thousands of holidaymakers.-VNA
