More than 985,000 foreign visitors to Vietnam arriving via air was up 18.5 percent compared to September last year, accounted for 81.2 percent while the number of tourists coming by sea and land were 8,090 and 219,432 respectively; 18.9 percent decrease of travelers coming by sea, accounted for 0.7 percent and 62.7 percent rise rise in tourists coming by land and accounted for 18.1 percent.
The number of international visitors to Vietnam in the first 9 months estimated at 11,616,490, up 22.9 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. Of which, 9,407.391 travelers chose to fly to Vietnam, up 17.4 percent compared to this time last year; while the number of visitors coming by sea and land were 190,805 and 2,018,294 tourists, up 0.5 percent and 62.1 percent respectively.
As of September, the number of visitors from South Korea increased most by 49.6 percent, Finland 33.8 percent, China 29.7 percent, Hong Kong (China) 29.4 percent, Denmark 16.4 percent, Taiwan (China) 15.1 percent, Italia 14.4 percent, Sweden 14.2 percent, the US 14.1 percent, Malaysia 14 percent and Africa 19.5 percent.
The number of international visitors from Laos and Cambodia decreased by 16.7 percent and 8.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
The number of domestic travelers reached 62.1 million, including 30.2 million long-staying tourists. Total revenue of Vietnam’s tourism industry was estimated at VND 451,200 billion in the first 9 months.
