Here are five islands that you mustn’t miss this summer.
Re Island, also known as Lon (Big) Island belongs to Ly Son island district. Re Island, the home to Tien (Fairy) beach with white silky sand and is surrounded by grandiose cliffs. The mustn’t-miss experiences on this island are bathing in the sea, sightseeing coral and walking to take photographs.
Suggested places for a day on the island: in the morning: monument, Vua well, Hang pagoda, lighthouse, An Hai communal house; in the afternoon: water reservoir near the Thoi Loi mountain, Cau cavern, An Vinh communal house, Am Linh pagoda, Duc pagoda where tourists are advised to stay there to see the sunset, tombs dedicated to those who had devoted their lives to defend national sovereignty over the seas and islands; and in the evening: enjoying dinner at restaurants or savoring fresh sea products.
Cham Island in Hoi An city is attractive thanks to its primitive beauty and to the local green tourism development strategy and inhabitants’ simple lives. It takes only 20 minutes to canoe from Cua Dai port to this island. No resorts or restaurants are on this island. However, tourists can enjoy homestay at a reasonable price of VND 50,000 per person per night.
Tourists should be on the island at between around 07:00 to 08:00 am to taste food from fresh sea products bought at the local market. In the afternoon, they could hire a bike to visit some relics such as Ong and Lang beaches, Hai Tang pagoda before diving to see coral in Chong beach.
What you should remember is that the island says “No” with plastic bags to protect the environment.
Xanh (Green) Island, also called Van Phi Island, is in Nhon Chau district, near Xuan Dai bay, about 24 kilometers from Quy Nhon city of Binh Dinh province. The island is regarded as a green gem with nice sceneries, green trees, blue sky and blue sea.
From Ham Tu wharf, tourists can be aboard a motor boat with VND 200,000 per ticket, or a traditional boat at a price of VND 25,000 per person, to reach Xanh Island. The island has primeval beaches, sloping strip of sand and diverse shapes of rocks. Homestay services are available. Tourists should go with local fishermen to catch true conchs at around 03:00 am.
Cau Island in Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province is one of the most alluring destinations this summer, especially in this June thanks to its calm sea. Tourist attractions on this island are Tinh Yeu (Love) cave, Sung Suong (Happy) chink, Tam Tien beach, Yen and Ba Hon caves, coral beach, and Ca Suot beach.
It is ideal to spend a day on exploring the island. Tourists should well prepare food, especially water because the island has no civilians, electricity and is in short of fresh water. To have a night on the island, tourists must be allowed by local border guards.
Mai Nha (Roof) Island is over four kilometers from O Loan lagoon, Phu Yen province. It is considered Robinson island. An ideal time to explore this island which is located in An Hai commune, Tuy An district, is from March to August because the sea is calm during this time.
It is good to camp on the beach to enjoy the nature. Tourists can catch different kinds of snails, including true conchs and sea urchins by themselves, and enjoy their good taste.
