VietNamNet Bridge – Though some Chinese travelers have caused problems, Vietnam has said that it will roll out the red carpet to travelers of all nationalities.
Chinese have flocked to Vietnam in recent days as they have been prohibited to travel to other countries.
Entering Vietnam with passports, staying in Vietnam and working without work permits, some Chinese are distorting Vietnam’s history and sovereignty.
The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) reported that Da Nang City authorities have seized thousands of posters from Jeep Tour, a tourism company in Ngu Hanh Son district. The posters introduced tours provided by Jeep Tour, in which the Vietnamese ‘East Sea’ was written as ‘China Beach’.
The representative of Jeep Tour said the posters were provided by a foreign man who booked tours there.

Many Chinese nationals enter Vietnam with tourism visas and go to Da Nang where they work illegally as tour guides. Many others buy land in Da Nang and set up business establishments.
Da Nang City and Khanh Hoa province are the favorite destination points for Chinese travelers.
According to the Da Nang Tourism Department, Chinese travelers account for the highest proportion in total travelers to the city.
Da Nang received 15,000 Chinese travelers in 2014, while the figure rose to 300,000 in 2015 and 211,000 in the first half of 2016.
As for Khanh Hoa, in 2016, the province received 525,000 Chinese travelers, an increase of three times compared with 2015. In the first two months of 2017 alone, 200,000 Chinese travelers arrived there.
Truong Van Tho, director of Vietnamtourism Charter JS Nha Trang Branch, said the firm plans to bring 130,000 Chinese travelers to Nha Trang City.
Chinese travelers stay in Nha Trang for 4-5 days on average, in 3-star and luxury hotels. They like Vietnam’s seafood, farm produce and fine arts.
“If the Chinese market can be exploited in a reasonable way, it will be a potential and stable market,” he commented. “Instead of discrimination, it would be better to apply necessary solutions to attract Chinese travelers and minimize the troubles brought by them.”
Nguyen Van Tuan, director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), said China is one of the important markets for Vietnam. “All travelers are welcome in Vietnam,” he said.
Tran Son Hai, deputy chair of Khanh Hoa province, said the provincial authorities are considering setting up a tourism club to receive Chinese travelers, possibly in the second quarter of the year.
