Tourists flock to Yen Tu Festival every spring time
Yen Tu Spring Festival 2017 on February 6 kicked off at Trinh Pagoda in Yen Tu heritage site in Uong Bi City of the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh, Vietnamplus reports.
This year’s festival as usual includes ritual ceremonies and festivities, and folk games and typical gastronomy of six ethnic groups living in Bao Dai Mountain region.
Notably, the festival offers package services for tourists, consisting of electric vehicle transportation and cable car drive at the price of VND300,000 per person for a round trip.
On the first day of the Lunar New Year or Tet, Yen Tu welcomed over 3,800 tourists to the site. Until the sixth day of Tet, the number of travelers to the place totaled over 13,600 people, some 3% increase on-year. It is expected that this year’s festival would lure more than two million guests.
Yen Tu was the cradle of Thien Vien Truc Lam Buddhism in the late 13th century. The heritage site is located on Yen Tu peak at the height of 1,068 meters above the sea level. Yen Tu has been known as one of the most spectacular sightseeing spots of Vietnam.
