New bus route no 159 was launched yesterday to connect Tan Son Nhat International Airport with Mien Dong Coach Station and An Suong Bus Station in HCMC on January 15.

Attending the launching ceremony was secretary of the city Party Committee Dinh La Thang and deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Le Van Khoa.
The route starts from Mien Dong station; travels through Dinh Bo Linh street, Highway 13, Pham Van Dong, Bach Dang, Truong Son, Tran Quoc Hoan, Cong Hoa, Truong Chinh and ends at An Suong station.
Return journey from An Suong will move through Highway 22, Truong Chinh, Cong Hoa, Hoang Van Thu, Phan Dinh Giot, Truong Son, Hong Ha, Pham Van Dong, Highway 13, Dinh Bo Linh and finish at Mien Dong station.
It will take 65 minutes to travel from Mien Dong to An Suong.
Buses will operate from 5:30 a.m. to 8:25 p.m. with the frequency of 15-30 minutes a trip. Fare is VND7,000 for journeys of less than 10 kilometers.
Investor Southern Airport Transportation Joint Stock Company said that the new route followed the success of former high quality routes 109, 119 and 49 to downtown HCMC.
Director of the Department of Transport Bui Xuan Cuong hoped that bus route 159 would meet travel demand of passengers from Tan Son Nhat to Mien Dong and An Suong and vice versa, contributing in reducing traffic congestion at the airport.
