Da Nang Int’l Airport welcomes 5 millionth passenger

The passenger, Tran Minh Thinh won a year of free air travel with VietJetAir. In addition, Japanese national Mr Yasuga Takenoriwas presented with a return ticket to Thailand while Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Ly from Hanoi received a return ticket to Singapore.

Da Nang international airport has transformed into the third largest airport in Vietnam, handling in excess of 100 flights per day.

In 2014, the airport welcomed 5 million passengers including nearly 900,000 international arrivals, a 53% rise from a year earlier.

Three airliners currently are exploiting domestic flights from Da Nang to nine cities in Vietnam including HCM City, Hanoi, Vinh, Can Tho, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Hai Phong, Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku, while seven others are conducting international flights to Singapore, Hong Kong (China), Seoul, Siem Riep, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.

To meet the passengers’ travel demand, the airport plans to expand its terminals to serve 10 million passengers per annum.

In addition, it is also set to build a cargo terminal with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes annually by 2025 and improve the quality of services.
