Mechanics in Ho Chi Minh City have wowed many people after tuning an old Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition into a car that looks exactly like a Rolls-Royce Phantom, the Voice of Vietnam news site reported Thursday.

They have spent VND200 million ($8,823) on the work, which has created an impressive “Rolls-Royce Phantom”.

The mechanics had to order some components from the U.S. to make the car look like an original Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The overall design of the car is like that of a real Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The most difficult phase is to make the “suicide doors,” which took the repairman around a month to complete.
|
A “suicide door” is the slang term for an automobile door hinged at its rear rather than the front, which is rarely found in modern vehicles due primarily to safety concerns.
It still uses the engine of the old Chrysler 300C Heritage Edition.
The tuning is nearly complete after about six months. Basically, the car looks like a real Rolls-Royce Phantom, which costs more than VND40 billion ($1.76 million). However, the team said more work is needed to make a perfect Rolls-Royce Phantom.
