Among areas covered by free wifi are Lung Cu flagpole, Vuong’s home historical relic site, Dong Van ancient town, Lung Cam cultural village, Quan Ba heaven gate, Ma Pi Leng peak, and Meo Vac night market.
Director Nguyen Van Bac said that the locality is completing works to operate the hotspots as soon as possible.
The providing free wifi is expected to help locals and visitors have easy access to the Internet and information of Ha Giang as well as the cultures of local ethnic minority groups.
It is one of plans to build an e-government in the northernmost locality, contributing to realising its administrative reform.

The move is also part of the province’s efforts to complete its infrastructure system and increase service quality for tourists during festivals and big events, especially the second Tam Giac Mach (triangle oat) Flower Festival and the Mong Culture Festival in the locality.
Particularly, the second Tam Giac Mach Flower Festival will take place in Ha Giang from October 14-16.
The annual festival that will be held in the districts of Dong Van, Quan Ba, Yen Minh and Meo Vac, will include various activities like camping, folk singing, games and farming on tam giac mach (buckwheat) fields.
During the coming festival, there will be a street festival in the area with traditional music and performances featuring actors in local ethnic costumes.
