Hidden in the greenhouses at Ba Vi near Hanoi is a most fantastic surprise for plant lovers— one of the largest private collections of cacti and succulents anywhere the world over.
Located about 50 km west of Hanoi, the best time to visit is in spring and summer when the cacti come into bloom, but it’s really quite something to see at any time of the year.
There are more than 1,200 differing kinds of cacti of various size, shape and colour— with some having a diameter of up to 50-60 cm.
It’s an easy visit for locals and an excellent place to take the kids.
