VND545 billion invested in hot spring resort in Thua Thien-Hue

Located at My An village, Phu Duong commune on one of the rare natural hot mineral water sources across Vietnam, the project covers an area of around 36,700m2 with a total floor area of 19,000m2.

It includes a conference centre with a capacity of 300 seats, the traditional Japanese onsen and spa bathing area, floating restaurants, villas, a 5-storey hotel complex, community service areas and parking lot.

In particular, its bathing pool system is divided into compartments with successive tanks at differences temperatures (32, 38 and 40 degrees Celsius), automatically discharging.

According to the initial study from the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, My An hot mineral water contains micronutrients necessary for health, and can be compared with the well-known mineral water around the world, such as Koundour in Russia and Paven Banis in Bulgaria. The hot mineral could help cure shoulder and nape myositis, neuritis, back pain, neurasthenia, chronic hypertension, arteriosclerosis circuit, and skin care.

The project is among the earliest to be implemented under a co-operation agreement between Thua Thien-Hue and Bitexco. Construction will start in September this year and the facility is expected to be put into operation by August 2017.

Bitexco is planned to invest in tourism infrastructure reaching international standards and high quality tourism products in the locality, with hotel projects, parks and luxury resorts under the brand Aman Resort or similar in Hue city, at an estimated investment of US$8.5 million.

The group also projects to pour investment into upgrading the Saigon Morin Hotel to five-star standard at a total investment of US$10 million, a world-class resort with a total estimated investment of US$30-50 million for MICE model in Hue, and a VND600 billion complex of commercial centres and luxury apartments namely The Manor along To Huu street in Hue city.

Previously, Bitexco invested in two hydropower plants of Ta Trach and Binh Dien with an annual output power of 200 million kWh each, contributing VND30 billion to the provincial budget each year.
