Hue monuments complex welcomes one million visitors in five months

Revenues from admission tickets reached VND116.5 billion (US$5.2 million), up 20.23% over the same period last year.

The centre said during the golden week from April 22-28, a range of promotional activities were held to attract tourists, including ticket price reductions for student delegations, and free admission to Thieu Tri Tomb and An Dinh Palace with the purchase of tickets for a tour of the Royal Palace, Minh Mang and Thieu Tri Tombs.

Admission to Gia Long, Thieu Tri Tombs, Hon Chen Temple and An Dinh Palace was also free if visitors bought tickets for a visit to four sites: the Royal Palace, Minh Mang, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh Tombs.

Other promotions include free narration for groups of 20 or more, a 30% ticket price reduction for court music performances at Duyet Thi Duong Theatre, and a 10% reduction on other services within the Hue royal citadel.

The centre also held exhibitions on Vietnam’s UNESCO-recognised documentary heritage items and the Nguyen Dynasty’s administrative documents as well as re-enacting the changing of the guard at Ngo Mon Gate and a royal wedding.

The HMCC is planning to hold three more golden weeks in celebration of summer, National Day and New Year of 2017 to draw more visitors to the complex.
