The agreement came as representatives of tourism promotion centres attended a conference in the city of Ha Long on May 31 to discuss measures to enhance co-operation.
The signatories comprise Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Lai Chau, Vinh Phuc, Ha Giang, Lang Son, Ninh Binh, Bac Kan, Thai Binh, Hai Duong, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Hoa Binh.
Under the agreement, local tourism agencies will share information on tourism promotion activities, connect their websites with one another, join forces at tourism fairs, support each other in enhancing the quality of tourism manpower and develop tourism products.
Nguyen Thi Bao, Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh Tourism Association said travel agencies were still operating independently. As such, the linkage will help enterprises streamline their promotional activities and information sharing.
Hoang Quoc Hoa at the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said the linkage between tourism promotion centres in the north was a sensible initiative to take advantage of the region’s strengths and create common tourism products.
