In Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam Book Day 2016 will take place on April 17-24 at HCMC street (Nguyen Van Binh street, district 1) as a chance to participate into book festival at the weekend.

In Hanoi, the opening ceremony of Vietnam Book Festival took place on April 20-24 in Reunification Park. The program comprises activities such as introducing book themed “Book and life”; exchange and dialogue with a participation of some researchers and cultural experts; introducing some authors, works with reader; introducing some new publishing books and reading skills. Aside from enjoying book introductions and display activities, readers will have the opportunity to interact and meet with authors and cultural researchers. Sideline activitites will also be organised, including the introduction and performance of national and globally-recognised intangible cultural heritages, as well as exchanges relating to publication and copyright.
In Binh Phuoc, Department of Culture and Sports organized the informing ceremony of Vietnam Book festival on the province. The event attracts 10 stalls from the information center; provincial libraries and some sectors such as visiting some book stalls with a topic of ethnci culture; honouring some literature works, living skills and honouring some works in the remote areas…

In Nam Dinh, Vietnam Book Festival 2016 will take place on 3 days on April 29-May 01, 2016 in March 3/2 Square. Many activities took place into the program such as displaying and book exhibition; organizing some stalls; exchange program and dialogue about book.
In Can Tho, Vietnam Book Day attracts many activities on April 19-25 such as introducing book display in city library; district; and cutural locations.
Through the activities, Vietnam Book Day becomes a cultural beauty, contributing to honour reading culture and some values of book in social life. It also celebrates people who are involved in book publishing and distribution: authors, editors, publishers, distributors, librarians.
As known, April 21 is designated as Vietnam Book Day under Decision 284/QD-TTg issued by the Prime Minister on February 24, 2014. Vietnam Book Day is an annual nationwide observance held on April 21. It was established in 2014 by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. This holiday focuses on raising public awareness about the importance of books and encouraging reading in the community.
