The working session

On behalf of the mission and the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung congratulated Laos on its successful Party Congress.

The two missions then exchanged views on two main areas, namely the renovation and embellishment of the “Solidarity of Vietnam-Laos Alliance in Combat” monuments in Laos, and the search and collection of Vietnamese martyrs’ remains.

Accordingly, over the past time the renovation and embellishment of the monuments have been successfully implemented by both sides with close coordination, especially in such provinces as Oudomxay, Xieng Khouang, Attapeu, and Champasack.

Regarding the search and collection of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists, who laid down their lives in Laos, the two sides agreed to continue promoting the work and boosting the finding of information related to the martyrs, so as to implement this special task in 2016 and the years that follow.
