(VOVworld) – The US and Cuba are expected to sign an agreement to restore commercial air travel between the two countries.
According to the notice sent by the Department of Transportation to congressional offices, this arrangement establishes scheduled air service of up to 30 daily direct flights between the U.S. and Cuba, will facilitate authorized travel, enhanced traveler choices, and strengthen people-to-people links between the two countries. US Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx and US Assistant Secretary of State Charles Rivkin are expected to arrive in Havana, Cuba to attend the signing ceremony. This is considered the greatest commercial agreement between the US and Cuba since the normalization of the bilateral ties.
