Lasting until tomorrow, the program allows visitors to experience the traditional Tet culture of Hanoi and elsewhere in the northern delta with 200 stalls in different areas including craft village, food, culture, tourism promotion, bonsai and folk games.

Visitors can see stalls selling to he (a traditional toy made from glutinous rice powder in the form of edible figurines), famous silk of Van Phuc Village in Ha Dong Village of Hanoi, wood crafts, traditional medicine of Dao ethnic people, and traditional dishes of Hanoi.

The program also features folk music and circus performances, and an area for calligraphers to write meaningful words. In particular, there is a contest of wrapping banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), a Tet specialty of the nation’s north.

This is the first time the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized Tet Viet. The program is expected to be made an annual event in coming years.

The Hanoi Museum is on Pham Hung Street, Me Tri Ward, Nam Tu Liem District.
