As Tet (Lunar New Year) is drawing near, Lai Vung is frequently visited by throngs of tourists who want to take photos and buy mandarin oranges at local orchards. Lai Vung mandarin orange is a famous brand among consumers nationwide. It tastes both sour and sweet. A kilogram of newly-picked mandarin oranges costs VND40,000 (US$1.8) at the orchard.
