Within the 10ha land with various types of medicinal plants like: diep ha chau, kim tien thao, thick-leaved tan, hong dai, thia canh, trinh nu hoang cung, bitter vegetables, rau meo, xuyen tam lien, shallow coconuts, lac tien tay, Japan ginger, dinh lang…That is the “farm” of the Center of researching and producing pharmaceuticals in Hoa Hiep Nam commune (Dong Hoa district), with nearly 50 kinds of herbal medicine plants under plantation and process in the scope of producing commodities. Besides, the Center has been collecting, planting and following precious plants in need of preservation, like Phu Yen gingsen, binh voi, xao tam phan, mat nhan…, which are being exploited to extinction in nature.
In parallel with planting pharmaceuticals, the center also produces commodities and selling in markets with products like: filtered tea bag, cao chiet, dried and fried power of many types. These products are distributed to many drugstores and pharmaceutical companies as well as GMP pharmacy companies nationwide. Not only that, with the large producing scale, meeting the GACP-WHO quality and standard, the center’s products have been exportedto the markets of Europe like: Germany, France, Hungary and some other Asian countries like Japan and Taiwan…
Despite not being the tourism service trading place, the Center is attracting lots of tourists thanks to the diversity of the pharmaceuticals and the green and fresh space here. Tourists can enjoy sightseeing, learning about precious pharmaceutical plants, the process of caring, producing and processing into completed products. Mr. Nguyen Van Lap, Thuan Thao Travel Agency, lets known, “recently, we have brought lots of tourists here, and the tourists do feel excited once leanring about the medicinal plants they have used for a long time but got no ideas of their origins. Lots of those tourists are also excited and engrossed in taking photos in the farms of pharmaceuticals, immense and green, buying the processed products before leaving”.
From merely a venue majoring in planting and producing pharmaceuticals to a tourism destination, the Center needs some reasoning adjustments and arrangements. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam chairman of Phu Yen tourism association, said, “basically, the Center is the exciting destination for tourists who come to Phu Yen province not only for swimming, exploring the scenic spots, dining seafood…they also learn about the herbal plants and buy original products, ensuring the good quality. For the tourists’ comforts, the Center should allocate more pathways, spots for taking photos, the zone for sightseeing, the waiting room for watching documentaries, and trying products, the selling stall, the curators..”
