Preparation for the newest Legendary Pictures King Kong sequel is underway so that the shooting can start in February.

Pre-production in Ninh Binh Province

The provinces of Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh and Quang Binh have been chosen following location scouting last year.

Hoang Thanh Phong, deputy director of Ninh Binh Culture, Sports and Tourism Department said a crew of 204 will stay in Ninh Binh from February 26 until March 16 for official shooting. They will leave to Ha Long Bay and then move on to Quang Binh.

A one hectare filming site has been prepared at Trang An. The film will include both aerial and ground shoots.

Kong: Skull Island is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts and features Tom Hiddleston. The substantial shooting locations include Australia, Vietnam and Hawaii. The film is planned to be released on March 10, 2017.

Filming site has been prepared

The National Administration of Tourism has finally begun leveraging Vietnam’s landscapes as part of efforts to attract international film crews to Vietnam. Last December, 14 Bollywood film makers attended the Indian Film Festival in Vietnam.

The Warner film Pan was also shot in Vietnam. However, Vietnam was not credited in the promotional materials because the local authorities did not sign promotional contracts or raise the issue in discussions.
