In 2015, the province has collected over 11,200 blood units from 11 voluntary blood donors, reaching nearly 160% of the plan and meeting 100% of emergency and treatment demands at the provincial General Hospital, according to the Steering Committee of voluntary blood donation campaign.
The significant campaign of “Pink blood drops” in summer 2015 that launched by Vietnam Red Cross collected nearly 4,000 blood units in the province.
Besides, eight blood banks in the province have expanded and developed, contributing a big quantity of blood demand in the province.
In 2016, the province sets target to collect 9,000 blood units, meeting 98% of blood quantity for emergency and treatment demands in the province.
In order to achieve the target, in the time to come, the provincial steering committee for voluntary blood donation will organize a wide range of activities such as organizing communication campaigns on voluntary blood donation, developing volunteer staff for the work, and honoring outstanding voluntary blood donors, etc.
