HCM CITY (VNS) — Binh Duong representative Vu Artem grabbed his second win at the National Top Tennis Players Tournament yesterday in HCM City.
Artem defeated his teammate Nguyen Hoang Hai 6-1, 6-3 in the first match of the Group B activity at the Phu Tho Tennis Club.
Later, defending champion Lam Quang Tri beat teenager Nguyen Van Phuong 6-1, 6-3.
In the Group A, Hanoian Trinh Linh Giang also won his second match, beating Dang Ngoc Vinh of Military 6-3, 6-3.
He will next play Pham Minh Tuan of Da Nang who yesterday overcame Nguyen Dac Tien of Ha Noi 6-0, 6-3.
Their match is planned to be aired live on television.
On the women’s side, host Dao Minh Trang defeated Phan Thi Thanh Binh 6-1, 3-6, 6-2.
Lian Tran, who represents the Viet Nam Tennis Federation, won 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2) over Huynh Phi Khanh of HCM City.
Tran will face Trang in the next round and their match will also be broadcast live. — VNS
