Phuong beats own record

HA NOI (VNS) — Nguyen Thi Phuong yesterday won a gold medal and set up a national record for women’s individual 50m 3-position event at the National Best Marksmen Championship in Ha Noi.

Phuong, who is with Military, shot 679.8 points, 0.5 points more than the record she set in 2011.

Nguyen Thi Xuan of Ha Noi and Nguyen Thi Hang of Hai Duong came second and third.

In the men’s individual 25m standard pistol, Phan Xuan Chuyen of HCM City took a gold with 574 points, followed by Le Doan Cuong of the Ministry of Public Security and Ha Minh Thanh from Military.

In the men’s individual 10m running target mixed final, Military’s Do Duc Hung triumphed with 378 points. Hanoian Ngo Huu Vuong and Tran Hoang Vu followed.

After five days of competition, Military, with eight golds are first, Ha Noi are second and HCM City, third.
