(Cinet)- On September 22, 2015, Thua Thien Hue’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially organized the honouring ceremony of Ca Hue as National Intangible Heritage.

The kind of art is a combination of literature and music, making a scholarly, fine and poetic beauty.

Ca Hue originated in Thuan Hoa-Phu Xuan (now Thua Thien – Hue ) more than three centuries ago.

The folk music has increasingly attracted domestic and foreign visitors. Ca Hue is said to bear similar significance to Vietnamese traditional music like don ca tai tu (Southern folk music) and ca tru (ceremonial singing) performed in the north.

Ca Hue music, also known as “the Hue tune”, is a variation of Hue royal court music. The music has lyrics with some being Hue folk songs.Ca Hue is a featured performing art. It is the combination of literature and music, creating a poetic and subtle, erudite and folk beauty. This folk music in Hue becomes a tourism product to attract domestic and foreign tourists in Perfume River cruise tours, and in the auditorium of Hue Citadel. Ca Hue is a genre of traditional music in Hue as well as a Vietnam[1] traditional music, including singing and playing music instruments.

Recognizing Ca Hue as National Intangible Cultural Heritage is a chance for the province to maintain, explore and develop some positions. Through that, the activity enhances to propagandize and introduce cultural values, contributing to affirm position of the center nationwide.

At the honouring ceremony, leader of Thua Thien Hue proposed that Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism as well as relevant agencies to implement some essential procedures and create more conditions to study and build a scientific document ” Ca Hue arts” in order to submit to the UNESCO in the next time.

At the same time, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized training programs and licensed nearly 500 artists and musicians of the genre.
