Top Vietnamese tennis player Ly Hoang Nam will participate in the men’s F26-28 Futures in Egypt, slated for August 10.

Nam, world No 1,312, will first compete in the qualifying round.

He has so far attended three Futures tournaments in Thailand, Indonesia, and Belgium. His best performances helped him to enter the quarter-finals in Thailand and Indonesia.

After this tournament, the 18-year-old will compete in the US Open, which is scheduled to be held from September 6 to 13.

The player, born in the southern Tay Ninh Province, has become the first Vietnamese to claim a Grand Slam junior title after winning the boys’ doubles trophy at the Wimbledon championships, with Indian partner Sumit Nagal on July 12. — VNS
