Ly Son Island district (previously known Re Islet) has long been considered the Fatherland’s outpost because of its important strategic position on Vietnam’s East Sea. * Tips: – Summer time from June to September, with lots of sunny weather, is most suitable for recreational activities at sea if travellers intend to take a trip to the island. Also, visitors taking a trip to Ly Son during its special garlic season from September to December should closely monitor the weather as this is hurricane season in the East Sea.
– Foreign tourists must register with border guards at Quang Ngai’s Sa Ky port before buying high-speed boat tickets to the island.
Located about 15 nautical miles offshore from central Quang Ngai province’s Sa Ky port, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes on a high-speed boat to reach the island.
