(Cinet) – The traditional music festival of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) wrapped up on August 6 at Lam Son Theatre, Thanh Hoa city. Deputy Minister Vuong Duy Bien attended.
With the participation of over 100 musicians, artists and art troupes from eight ASEAN member countries – Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and host Vietnam – the festival saw the participation of artists from the Republic of Korea. The festival presented a good opportunity for artists to exchange experiences and glimpse the quintessence of the regional traditional music while deepening relations and solidarity among ASEAN countries towards the establishment of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien said the festival aimed to promote valuable musical features of regional countries and to enhance mutual understanding among their peoples.
The festival is part of activities to mark the 20-year ASEAN membership of Vietnam and the 48th founding anniversary of the group.
