VGP – Viet Nam will launch its first Cultural Days on August 8- 12 in Washington D.C. and New York City, the U.S., as part of activities to mark the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The event is being jointly held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST), the Viet Nam Embassy to the U.S. and Permanent Mission of Viet Nam to the United Nations.
MoCST Minister Hoang Anh Tuan is scheduled to visit the U.S. during the five-day event to boost cultural exchange between the two nations.
The event will consist of a premier folk music concert in the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts.
A fashion show will be held on August 9 at the Millennium Stage with several collections of Vietnamese top designers – Minh Hanh, Lan Huong, Quang Nhat and Chula.
An exhibition titled “Vietnamese colors” will be on display at New York Historical Society Museum and Library.
The MoCST expected that the upcoming event would diversify the comprehensive ties between the two countries./.
