The Vietnamese Cultural Days in the United States of America will be held from August 8th – 12th in Washington D.C and New York on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Diplomatic Relations. (Photo: vov.vn) The event will be co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; the Vietnam Embassy in the United States and the Permanent Mission of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the United Nations. The activities at the event will include a working visit by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hoang Tuan Anh to the United States with the aim of promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries; the special performances by the Vietnam Contemporary Art Theatre and the Vietnam National Academy of Music at the New York Historical Society Museum and Library and on the stages of the Kennedy Centre in Washington D.C. An art program titled “Essence of Vietnam” opening the “Vietnamese Cultural Days in the United States of America” will be held at the Terrace Theatre in the Kennedy Centre on August 8th. Besides, the other events titled “Colors of Vietnam” showcasing the Vietnamese cultural space (Vietnam’s traditional costume and musical instruments) and “Night of lotus” will take place on the stage of Millennium on August 10th and 11th. The fashion show themed ‘Miraculous Transformation’ on the stage of Millennium on August 9th with the participation of designers Minh Hanh, Lan Huong, Quang Nhat and Chula. They will introduce their collections at the Vietnamese Cultural Days in the United States of America. The collection is a combination of materials, including jeans, a popular material in the United States and silk and brocade, the traditionally Vietnamese materials./.
