HANOI (VNS) – Three out of five archers in Viet Nam archery team entered the 1/48 bracket round of the 2015 World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark yesterday.

In the qualifying round of the women’s individual recurve, Le Thi Thu Hien earned 651 points to rank 17th. She will meet the Estonian Nurmsalu Laura in the 1/48 bracket round.

Loc Thi Dao finished 72th position with 619 points. She will face Bjerendal Christine from Sweden in the next round.

In the men’s individual compound, Nguyen Tien Cuong ranked 28th with 678 points. He then will face Domanski Renaud from Belgium.

Other Vietnamese representatives Mai Xuan Ngoc and Nguyen Tuan Anh failed in the qualification round.

In the men’s compound team’s qualifying round, Viet Nam didn’t play sucessfully.

This competition will give athletes a chance to secure tickets for 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil.

The event, which is organised by World Archery Federation, will run until August 2. — VNS
