Vietnam beat North Korea 3-1 at the 2015 VTV International Women’s Volleyball Championship in Bac Lieu Province on Wednesday to book a ticket to the semifinal round.
Despite lacking key attackers Do Thi Minh and Ha Ngoc Diem, Vietnam dominated the first two sets and won 25-21 and 28-26.
North Korea won the third set 25-18 before losing 19-25 in the fourth one.
Vietnam will play against U-23 Thailand in the semifinal round on Friday (July 31). Earlier, Vietnam had defeated U-23 Thailand 3-1 in qualifying round.
The other semifinal match is scheduled on the same day between the Philippines and Liaoning Club of China.
