HCM CITY (VNS) — A football programme kicked off yesterday in HCM City with a three-day intensive training session for social workers and disadvantaged children.
Coaches with the Manchester United Foundation helped local coaches and social workers engage and interact with the children.
The programme aims to offer healthy entertainment for children, said Pham Dinh Nghinh, head of the city’s Children’s Social Work Centre.
As many as 100 children from public and private social welfare centres in the city are taking part in the event, carried out by the city’s Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in co-operation with the Football Federation and UNICEF. — VNS
