Experience the Tour “One day working as farmers” in Phu Yen province

Phu Yen province is increasingly known for its many tourist attractions, such as sea, lagoons, wonderful natural bays. However, the biggest drawback in the locality is the lack of tourism products. Currently, Phu Yen tourism sector has implemented the project “Developing the community-tourism products in the vegetable village of Ngoc Lang, Binh Ngoc commune, Tuy Hoa city”, aiming to create an attractive tourism product.

The family of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong, one out of four households in Ngoc Lang village, Binh Ngoc commune selected for the model of community tourism, is very excited about the new kind of job. The whole family has embarked on planning the vegetable fields, purchasing tools and workwears for the service of experience activities, preparing meals for visitors. When involved in providing community-based tourism products in Ngoc Lang vegetable village, the households chosen for the sample will be supported VND 120 million a year. Besides, these households must have a 20-million-dong reciprocal capital to invest into repairing infrastructure, ensuring eligibility for visitors.

Enhancing the potential of local advantages, Phu Yen province has built several new tourism products, including the sight-seeing tours in Ngoc Lang vegetable village; the tours and experiences of “One day working as farmers in vegetable village”; “Homestay” tours in Ngoc Lang vegetable village. Tourists participating in the tours will be guided the organic-vegetable-farming skills, cooking techniques, providing organic-vegetable varieties…

Mr. Ho Van Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Phu Yen, lets known: “Ngoc Lang is located in Tuy Hoa city, possessing very favorable natural conditions. Initially, the local people will be benefited from the organic products, and then a number of service activities will also bring them further income”.

Gradually building attractive destinations, effectively exploiting tourism potential and diversity of community tourism products to attract tourists and investment; creating conditions for the those directly involved in doing tourism and increasing income from tourism; forming a model to develop community tourism products in other villages… are important objectives aimed by Phu Yen tourism sector.
