Thai Vietjet Air will operate one flight every five days on the Can Tho – Bangkok route.
NDO – A ceremony was held at the Can Tho International Airport on July 21 to launch the air route linking the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho and Thailand’s capital of Bangkok.
Thai Vietjet Air, an airline venture between Vietnam’s VietJet Aviation Joint Stock Company (VietJetAir) and its Thai partner, will operate one flight every five days, using Airbus A320 airplanes.
The flights depart from Hanoi at 1:30pm and land in Bangkok at 3pm (local time) while the return flights take off at 11:30am and land in Can Tho at 1pm.
An one-way ticket for the Can Tho – Bangkok route will be sold at VND2.699 million (including tax and fees).
Currently, the Can Tho International Airport regularly serves domestic routes connecting Can Tho with Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat and Con Dao. The international route between Can Tho and Taipei (Taiwan) is put into operation during the annual Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The Airport welcomed more than 225,000 passengers during the first six months of this year, an increase of 72% over the same period last year.
On the same day, the budget airline Vietjet Air announced that it will launch a special promotion, offering over 500,000 ‘zero fare’ airfares (excluding tax and other additional fees) for all domestic routes and international routes to Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei (Taiwan), Seoul (the Republic of Korea) and Yangon (Myanmar).
The discounted tickets should be booked online via VietJet Air’s official website www.vietjetair.com from July 22-29 from12pm to 2pm. The promotional progamme applies to passengers who book flights on routes to Pleiku and Yangon from October 1 and 2 to December 31, respectively, and other flights from September 7 to December 31.
