VN to have 15 representatives at summer Olympics

HA NOI (VNS) — Viet Nam plan to send up to 15 athletes to the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games next year in Brazil.

The athletes will enter shooting, track-and-field, gymnastics, fencing and weightlifting events.

According to the National Sports Administration, four Vietnamese have qualified for the Games next summer.

Tran Quoc Cuong will vie for a title in the men's 10m air pistol in Brazil. — Photo sfs.vn

They are marksmen Hoang Xuan Vinh and Tran Quoc Cuong, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien and runner Nguyen Thi Huyen.

Vien is set to compete in three events of 200m individual medley (IM) , 400m IM and 400m free style.
