Vietjet adds extra 500 flights on key routes from Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi

To meet rising demand of air travel in Vietnam, VietJet will increase the frequency of routes connecting Hai Phong, Da Nang and Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi as well as the Ho Chi Minh City – Hanoi route.

Accordingly, an extra 500 flights – equivalent to 90,000 seats – will be added to the schedule in the coming months. Starting on June 10, routes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Nha Trang will have another 20 return flights, 12 return flights and five return flights daily respectively until August 9, 2015. The Ho Chi Minh City – Hai Phong route will also have five added return flights from June 6 until December 31, 2015.

Earlier this year, Vietnam’s fastest growing carrier had already added 1,500 flights – equivalent to 270,000 seats – across its whole network in preparation for the peak season in summer.

Desmond Lin, Director of Business Development of VietJet, said: “We have seen a high demand on daily routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang, Da Nang, and Hai Phong. Over the summer, these routes are overloaded due to the increase in demand for tourism travel by businesspersons, families, students, and other holidaymakers.

“So we would like to ease the demand by adding thousands of extra seats this summer so more travelers can enjoy our low-fares, ongoing promotions, diverse ticket classes, and convenient travel schedule.

Currently, passengers can avail of the airline’s special promotion “It’s time to Vietjet” with tickets from zero dong from noon to 2 p.m. everyday until June 25, 2015 (Vietnam time).
