HA NOI (VNS) — Thach Kim Tuan is expected to win a gold medal at the Southeast Asian Weightlifting Championships in Thailand.

The world champion and his teammate Tran Le Quoc Toan will compete in the men’s 56kg category.

The tournament, which begins today, will end on June 29 in Bangkok, Thailand.

After the regional event, the weightlifters will compete in the 26th Women’s and 45th Men’s Asian Championships in late July, also in Thailand.

Apart from winning titles, the Vietnamese sportspersons will also try to qualify for the Rio Olympics next year. — VNS
