As scheduled, Minister, Hoang Tuan Anh will have a working session with Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industry to discuss the future cooperation in tourism between the two nations.

Head of the Son Doong Cave Adventure Team will introduce the potential held by Quang Binh Province for cave tourism and discuss the possibility of making and broadcasting a promotional film featuring Son Doong cave on Singapore’s TV Channel 5.

Son Doong is not only huge, but an extremely beautiful place and as a result of the extensive jungle housed inside is filled with wonders which could be imagined as closer to an alien habitat than that of planet Earth. The cave is more than 149 meters wide, 201 meters high, and approx 4.8 kilometers long, with caverns big enough to fit entire city streets.

Located in Son Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh Province, 500 km south of Hanoi, the cave was formed somewhere between 2 and 5 million years ago by river water eroding the limestone beneath the mountain with the weakspots in the ceiling collapsing to create huge skylights.

Son Doong cave is part of an underground system of rivers, tropical forests, beaches, and hundreds of caves and grottos of which only 20 were explored.

The 28th SEA Games will be hosted by the city-state of Singapore between June 5th and 16th. About 7,000 athletes from 11 participating nations will compete at the event and provide entertainment for tens of thousands of tourists from the region and around the world.

Singapore’s selection as the host of the 28th SEA Games of 2015 was announced in 2011 during the 26th SEA Games, held in the Indonesian cities Palembang and Jakarta. The Lion City had previously been picked to host the event in 2007 and 2013./.
