The BRG Group broke ground on April 27 for the first five-star hotel in the port city of Hai Phong.
Covering an area of 8,300 square metres in the city’s Hong Bang district, the project has a total investment capital of 2.2 trillion VND (102 million USD).
The 22-storey hotel will be operated by the Hilton chain. It will have 240 guest rooms, 34 apartments, and gym and spa facilities and two large conference halls.
The project also includes the building of a mall beside the hotel, with 205 high-segment apartments and a convergence of boutiques and other retailers selling leading brands. There will also be food and beverage outlets and recreational areas.
It is expected that the project will be completed in 2018.
Currently, the BRG Group is also developing the Do Son Seaside Golf Resort in Hai Phong city.
First five-star hotel inaugurated in Can Tho
The first five-star standard Muong Thanh Hotel was officially opened in the southern city of Can Tho on April 28, with the attendance of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and a number of state officials.
Covering an area of 1.7 hectares on the Cai Khe river islet in Ninh Kieu district, the hotel was built at a total cost of 800 billion VND (37.3 million USD).
The 19-storey hotel has 309 superior guest rooms in line with five-star standards, a restaurant and four conference rooms with 1,200 seat capacity.
Muong Thanh Can Tho Hotel, the 30th of its kind in the country, will help increase the number of high-standard rooms in the locality.
There are now 180 hotels in Can Tho City, including four four-star hotels, seven three-star hotels and one five-star hotel, with the total guest rooms of 5,302.
According to Vo Thi Hong Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, the five-star hotel, together with Vingroup’s new commercial building, hotel and conference complex, will improve local capacity to organise national and international conferences from mid 2016.
