The Vietnamese national U-23 football team will have the accompaniment of a security official when they take part in the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Singapore from June 5-16.
The news was confirmed by managers of the Vietnamese sports delegation to Singapore.
So, this will be the third security official to accompany the delegation, who is in charge of the single football team, while two other security officials will care for the remaining national teams of Vietnam.
The Vietnamese delegation has 570 members, including 392 athletes and 178 coaches and officials, to compete in 285 events of 28 sports. The tournament offers competition in a total of 36 sports.
The delegation is headed by Tran Duc Phan – vice head of the General Sports Department and head of the delegation in Singapore.
Vietnam plans to win 56-65 gold medals at the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, including most gold medals in the two sports of track and field, with 10 gold medals, and swimming, with 8 other golds.
All matches of the Vietnamese U-23 football team at the 28th SEA Games will be live broadcast on VTV6 channel, according to Vietnam Television.
