(VOV) -The national women’s volleyball team finished in fifth position after a win over Japan (3-1) at the Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship in China, on May 28.
The two teams entered a tight scoring race in the first set, with Vietnam players trouncing their rivals 25-23.
With all players in good form, Vietnam stole the game in the second set with a score of 25-17.
However, Japan bounced back to defeat Vietnam 25-21 in the third set.
Vietnam produced a spectacular comeback in the fourth set, outplaying their opponents with score of 25-19.
It was the second time Vietnam overcame Japan at the tournament.
After the tournament, the team will fly to Singapore to compete in the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, which is scheduled to take place from June 10-15.
