Vietnam has jumped five places to rank 75th on the 2014 – 2015 Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) rankings.
NDO – Vietnam has moved up five notches to claim 75th place out of 141 countries in the world on the 2014 – 2015 Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Index (TTCI) rankings, according to the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s report.
The report is based on the points that Vietnam had gained in four criteria including tourism environment (4.6/7 points), policies (3.7/7 points), infrastructure (2.9/7 points) and culture and natural resources (3.2/7 points).
Regarding sub-indexes, the Vietnamese tourism sector has been appreciated with the 22nd position in tourism price and 132nd in sustainable tourism development.
Over the past, Vietnam has continuously moved up in the TTCI rankings. Earlier, the country’s TCCI ranked 89th and 80th in 2009 and 2013 respectively.
The TTCI aims to assess factors and policies that encourage the development of the travel and tourism sector in different countries around the world, significantly contributing to the development and competitiveness of the respective countries.
The top ten countries in the WEF’s TTCI rankings include Spain, France, Germany, the US, the UK, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Japan and Canada.
Singapore took the lead in TTCI in the Southeast Asian region, standing at 11th position in the world rankings.
