NDO – More than 34,200 paintings by children from 574 schools nationwide have been submitted to the 2015 National Children’s Painting Exhibition scheduled to take place on May 27, according to the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibition.

As many as 400 paintings will be selected to be showcased at the exhibition as an activity to celebrate International Children’s Day (June 1).

This year’s exhibition also saw the participation of pupils from boarding schools in mountainous provinces and from SOS Children’s Village in Hai Phong.

The National Children’s Painting Exhibition is held biennially under the ‘Vietnamese Children’s Fine Arts Awards’ project, which is jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Education and Training, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee.

The event is expected to encourage fine arts activities for children and nurture talents.
