NDO – The 25th Vietnam International Trade Fair opened at the Vietnam Exhibition & Fair Centre in Hanoi on April 15, with 720 pavilions from 600 domestic and international enterprises.


Goods on display are diverse and include machinery, equipment, electrical goods, food, drinks, housewares and healthcare products from 28 countries and territories around the world including the UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, Japan, Singapore, China, Nepal, and Kenya among others.


This year’s fair, themed ‘Partnership towards the ASEAN Economic Community’, is a chance for Vietnam to boost economic integration and prepare for the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015.


Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that the Vietnam Expo was held for the first time in 1991 and has seen growth in both scale and quality, drawing many giant Vietnamese and international businesses. The fair has become one of the most important annual trade promotion activities, bringing about huge opportunities for enterprises to promote export and production.


During the event, several trade and export promotion forums and seminars will be organised.


The annual event is being held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade from April 15 to 18 and is expected to attract 20,000 visitors.
