The Bologna Children’s Book Fair with the participation of publishers from around the world
(Cinet)- The 52nd annual Bologna Children’s Book Fair opened on March 30 with the participation of publishers from around the world, including Vietnam Young Publishing House.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the most important international event dedicated to the children’s publishing and multimedia industry. In Bologna authors, illustrators, literary agents, licensors and licensees, packagers, distributors, printers, booksellers, and librarians meet to sell and buy copyright, find the very best of children’s publishing and multimedia production, generate and gather new contacts while strengthening professional relationships, discover new business opportunities, discuss and debate the latest sector trends.
Each year, the fair proposes to all exhibitors and visitors alike, special initiatives that offer excellent opportunities to increase contacts and hone ones’ skills in various sectors of the children’s copyright market.
In the framework of the 52nd Bologna Children’s Book Fair, Bologna Fiere and AIE – Italian Publishers’ Association will organize the 3rd BOP – Bologna Prize for the Best Children’s Publishers of the year.
The prize has been instituted to pay tribute to publishers at the forefront of innovation in their activity for the creative nature of the editorial choices they have made during the previous year’s edition of the fair.
The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the world’s leading professional fair for children’s books.
Since 1963, it has been held annually over four days in March or April in Bologna, Italy. It is the meeting place for all professionals involved with creating and publishing children’s books, and is mainly used for the buying and selling of rights, both for translations and for spin-off products like movies or animated television series. It is also the event where a number of major awards are given.
