PANO – The Korean Cultural Centre opened the Han-ji Contemporary Korean Paper Art exhibition showcasing 15 works by artist Yang Sang Hoon in Hanoi on April 4th.

Han-ji is a strong and long-lasting traditional paper of the Republic of Korea (RoK), made from the inner bark of the dak (mulberry) tree. It is also used in the fashion industry.

In his works, themed “Love song”, Yang Sang Hoon manipulated the paper to reflect the power of this material.

On the sideline of the 27-day exhibition, the centre will hold an exchange for the two sides’ artists to share their experience in applying Vietnamese traditional “giay do” (rhamnoneuron paper) and Han-ji in art.
