That’s win helped Viet Nam to stand first in the team event, followed by the hosts Thailand.


At the same event held two years ago, Nguyen Thuy Dung had won the overall yellow jersey.


The Tour of Thailand is part of the International Cycling Union’s competition system.


Phuong wins gold at IWF Youth World Championships


Le Khong My Phuong won a gold medal at the 2015 IWF Youth World Championships held in Lima, Peru, yesterday (Viet Nam time).


Phuong lifted 70kg in the snatch category of the women’s 44kg discipline to take gold, followed by Chinese athlete Gao Yimei who lifted 67kg.


In the clean and jerk category, Phuong ranked fifth with her lift of 76kg.


However, she lifted 146kg in total to gain one more silver medal.


Yimei won two gold medals in the clean and jerk category (88kg) and total lift (155kg).


In the men’s 50kg category, Le Nguyen Quoc Bao won two silver medals and one bronze medal.


Next, Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan and Ly Quang Vinh will compete in the men’s 56kg event.


Viet Nam has sent four athletes to take part in the tournament, which will end on Sunday.


Dat, Trang to compete in Luxembourg Open

PepsiCo Viet Nam to sponsor HCM City volleyball team


The HCM City Volleyball Federation has signed a one-year sponsorship deal with PepsiCo Viet Nam in HCM City.


The company will sponsor the federation VND1.2 billion (US$57,000) for the municipal women’s volleyball team at the 2015 National Volleyball Championships.


The championships will start on Sunday and run until November 28.
