Architectural design competition for Ca Tunnel launched

NDO – The Deo Ca Investment Joint Stocks Company in co-ordination with the Vietnam Institute of Architecture, Urban and Rural Planning on April 3 launched a design competition for the construction project of the Ca Pass Tunnel in the central provinces of Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa.


Participants are required to submit their entries by May 22, 2015, with the awards ceremony scheduled to be held in mid June, 2015.


The Ca Pass Tunnel project aims to replace Ca Mountain Pass and Co Ma Mountain Pass, parts of National Highway 1A that run through Dai Lanh Mountain, which have dangerous bends prone to avalanches and landslides.


Construction will be carried out under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) and Build-Transfer (BT) models at a total cost of VND11.378 trillion.


The entire project has a total length of 13.4 kilometers, with Ca Pass tunnel alone stretching 3.9 kilometers, Co Ma tunnel spanning 500 meters, and linking roads and bridges covering a further nine kilometers.
